Happy Monday!

So looking forward to connecting with you all this week. I hope you all kept busy and safe over the weekend, did anyone do anything exciting??!  Khadija’s Mum sent me some lovely pictures Hector and his Mum Alicia drew outside their home, what a creative way to say hello whilst keeping a safe distance!

I will, as always be emailing parents to collect in our weekend news work. I really look forward to sharing everyone’s news later today so you can keep in touch with each other.

9:30-10:00: Literacy

In class 1 we print off the pictures from our weekend and share them with our friends. Then we tell an adult what we’d like to write to accompany the picture, this can be single words or sentences depending on each individual.

Could you do this in one of your jotters? If you don’t have a printer you could draw a picture of something you did instead. Remember it will really help some of us if you dot our words for us to trace like below…

Please remember to send your photos and sentences to me so I can share with everyone later today.

10.00-10.30: If you have time you could also check out Newsround to learn more about what is going on in the world around us.

11:15-12:15: Maths

The best way for you to keep practising the right maths for you is through SumDog: https://www.sumdog.com/user/sign_in?to=%2Femails

12:15-1pm: Lunch

1-1.30 pm: Fine Motor Skills

One of the really important aspects of our daily school life is play. These play based experiences help us make sense of the world around us and also assist in our development of fine and gross motor skills which impacts on our cognitive activity and even our pencil grip etc.

I have attached a suggested activity you could try at home to help develop these skills.

1.30-2.30pm: Science

Today we’re going to revise our science topic ‘Living Things’.

Click on the link below.

Now watch the following links to revise what we’ve already learned in class.

Once you’ve done this you could also watch this you tube video which explains the different parts of a plant.

When you have done this have a go at the worksheets below. If it’s not convenient to print just answer the following questions verbally or in your jotter.

Can you name the different parts of a plant?

What is the life cycle of a plant?

2:30-3pm: Story and chat

At the end of each day, we will send you stories to listen to/read. Some of these will be read by your lovely St. Albert’s teachers, others might be by famous authors. To get ready for the story:

  • Get a snack and a drink
  • Get somewhere comfy – on cushions/sofa/bed, under a blanket
  • Get one of your parents or a brother/sister to listen with you

Here are today’s stories:
