Nursery parents should also keep an eye on Seesaw for events as with our youngest learners we tend to be responsive and not all events are planned for the full year. Class School Trips will also be planned as possible and information will come out in good time.
September 2025

Tuesday 2nd – P1-7 updated class pages shared with parents
Tuesday 23rd-Friday 26th – School Photographs – At the request of the Parent Council, we are trying a new photographer this year. The photos will be taken over a few days. Nearer to the time, you will receive a note of your child’s day. All children will be included unless you have stated ‘No’ to photos on their General Permissions or unless you opt them out by telling the school office. If you have a pre-Nursery child you would like included in a family photo, or if you would like a different group shot taken (e.g. a cousin’s group) please contact the office to make an arrangement.
Thursday 25th – P1-7 Flu Vaccines – your child will only receive the inoculation if you have returned the NHS permission form.

During October, you will have the chance to sign up for your Parent’s Evening Appointment. Look out for the link coming home around 6th. If you don’t sign up, you will be allocated a slot.
Friday 10th – Last Day of Term 1 – Harvest Service at Wormit Church at 9.30am. All P1-7 children will attend with their teacher unless you contact the school office to opt them out. All parents are welcome – please fill up the pews from the back. Nursery parents are welcome to bring their child if they want and then drop them off at nursery afterwards. Let the staff know they will be in late so that their lunch can be ordered.

Monday 27th – First Day of Term 2
Friday 31st – P1-7 children can bring a costume to put on after lunch for an afternoon of Halloween Craft

Friday 14th – School and Nursery closed to children for inservice day – our PSAs will be doing enhanced Child Protection Training, our Teachers will be working on the development of a maths strategy, approaches to feedback and tracking and the pedagogy of digital learning. Our EYOs will be working of self evaluation and development of universal strategies to support learners.

Tuesday 9th – 2pm P1-3 Christmas Performance
Wednesday 10th – 6pm P1-3 Christmas Performance. Please save the date so that your child will be able to return to school for the performance – it will be a special experience for them.
Details about Tickets for the performance will come home closer to the time. All funds raised will go to Wormit Food Bank.
Thursday 11th – 6-7.30pm Christmas Fair – run by P1-7. Please save the date so that your child will be able to return to school to help their class enterprise activities. All funds raised will go to school fund.
Tuesday 16th – All children watching M&M Panto in the school hall. We will ask you for a contribution towards the cost of the company coming into school nearer the time. All children will see the show unless you opt them out.

Monday 2nd – Learning Partnership Visit – each year we invite other headteachers and education officers into school to support our self-evaluation work. This year the focus will be upon our development of a maths strategy. There will be opportunities for parents to come in and share their views. More information will follow but if you are interested, please save the date.
Tuesday 3rd – P1-7 Parents Evening 5-7pm
Thursday 5th – World Book Day. Please wear uniform. All children will take part in peer learning with a different age group.
Thursday 5th – P1-7 Parents Evening 4-6pm
Wednesday 18th – P1-7 Parents Evening 5.30-7.30pm
Wednesday 25th – Sponsored Run – All spectators welcome – P1-3 at 10am, P4&5 1.30pm and P6&7 at 2.15pm. Pupil Council will choose the charity nearer the time. Children should come to school wearing running kit and trainers – no need for uniform.

All P1-7 children will work on the Theme of the Commonwealth Games in the first two weeks of term

Tuesday 5th and Wednesday 6th – Open Afternoons – 3.15-4pm – all families invited into school to see the Commonwealth Games Displays
Thursday 7th – School and Nursery closed to children for inservice day – our PSAs and Teachers will be working self-evaluation and School Improvement Planning. Our EYOs will be working on report writing and enhanced Child Protection Training.
Friday 8th – No uniform day – contribute £1.50 if you can with monies raised going to school fund.
Friday 8th – P4-7 House Quiz. Theme – Commonwealth Games – many of the questions will be made up from the displays of learning around the school to encourage the children to engage with them on their tour of the school in class time and if they come to the Open Afternoons with family members.

Wednesday 24th – 6.30pm – P7 Show, each family can have 3 members attend. Nur-P6 children will see the show in school time.
