Weekly Information – 31st January

Dear parent/carer,

Another busy week has gone by and we are now at the end of January. This week across the school we have been exploring themes of perseverance and determination, and learning about the traditions of the lunar new year!

Parents Evening Booking

Dear parent/carer,
You are invited to make appointments for the school’s next parent-teacher meetings. These will be held in person in the school on the following dates:

Tuesday 4th March
Parent Teacher Interviews 5-7pm

Thursday 6th March
Parent Teacher Interviews 4-6pm

Wednesday 12th March
Parent Teacher Interviews 5.30pm-7.30pm

Appointments will be available to book from 09:00 on Monday 3rd February 2025 until 15:00 on Feb 21st.

Illness and absence

A reminder that if your child has been sick or has diarrhoea they should stay off school for 48 hours from the last episode of diarrhoea or vomiting.

P7 Photograph

The Courier and Evening Telegraph will again be running their Last Class Supplements featuring P7 pupils/classes and we would like to send them a picture of our P7 class to appear in the paper.

The special edition will then be released on the following dates:

Evening Telegraph – w/c Monday 19th May 2025

We will confirm a date for this picture to be taken over the next weeks, if you do not wish your child to be included in this for any reason please email jamie.rose@fife.gov.uk.

P7 Transitions

Dear Parent or Carer,
 
Junior Saints are offering pupils across P1-7 the opportunity to engage in a block of dance lessons delivered by their qualified dance union team. The sessions start on the 6th February and run until the 3rd of April at a cost of £36 for the block. The sessions will take place in their newly refurbished dance studio and are set to be great fun.

Weekly Information – 17th January

Dear parent/carer,

Another busy week has gone by! Our classes have been working on new topics and settling in to the Spring term. This week at assembly the classes shared their learning with each other and we found out about some of the children’s wider achievements outside of school.

Parent Council

Dear Parents,

The next Parent Council meeting will take place at the school on Wednesday 22nd of January at 5:30pm. It would be great to see as many of you there as possible to discuss fundraising ideas for the school.

PE Kits
Please ensure your child has PE kit with them on the days their class has PE – these dates are available on the school website.
Car Park
Can we please request again that the school car park is not used for parent parking – parking is very tight for staff and these spaces need to be reserved for staff use.
P6 Football
P6 had their first session with the Active Schools football coach this week. Please remember to provide suitable outdoor PE kit for your child every Wednesday in addition to any PE days.
Medication reminder
If your child is prescribed a new medication which needs to be kept or administered in school please contact the school office so we can make appropriate arrangements for this.

Weekly Information – Friday 10th January

We have been delighted to welcome all the children back to school after the Christmas break – it has been a lovely start to the new term! We hope all of the families in the Wormit community had a lovely winter break – we are looking forward to working together in 2025!

P6 Football

Primary 6 football coaching will continue to run on Wednesday mornings (weather dependent). Please ensure your child has suitable outdoor kit for PE on Wednesdays, with something warm to wear in case of cold temperatures!

P5-7 Running Club

Our running club will resume next week on Friday 17th January, at the usual ties (3.05-4pm). Please let us know in advance if your child will not be able to attend any of the running club sessions. We expect we will have some more cold days ahead so your child should bring warm comfortable clothing for running.

Ardroy Talk

A reminder we will have a talk from the head instructor at Ardroy at 6pm on Thursday 23rd January in the school hall. Children and adults welcome!

Merry Christmas!

We would like to wish the whole school community a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Thank you to everyone in the community for all your help and support this year.

P5-7 Running Club

Huge thanks to Roy & John for leading our running club in 2024. The club will return in the new year, with our first date scheduled for Friday 17th January

P6 Football

A Fife Active Schools coach will be working with our P6 class beginning on Wednesday 15th January. Please make sure your child has PE kit suitable for outdoor use with them every Wednesday.

Ardroy Talk

A reminder for all P7 parents that there will be a talk for Ardroy information held in the school hall at 6pm on Thursday 23rd January. Children and parents welcome!

Flu Vaccine

A reminder that flu vaccines will be taking place in school on Monday 30th September

Rag Bag Collection

There will be a Rag Bag Collection taking place on 25/09/2024. Please Bring Bags into school the day before the collection date. Thank you  

General Permissions/Annual Data Check

A reminder that if you haven’t already handed in your child’s general permission form and annual data check form to do so as soon as possible. It is important to return them to us every year to make sure your contact details are up to date should we need to contact you in an emergency.
