School Report and Improvement Plan

Our Standards and Quality Report and School Improvement Plan have been published on the website this week. A quick read summary for families is available here: Wormit-Summary-for-Families.pdf

The full documents are available here: School Improvement Plan and Standards and Quality Report | Wormit Primary School

Your child will bring home a paper copy of the quick read summary today or at the start of next week and I will be sending a MS Form to gather your thoughts and ideas for parental involvement.

October Dates
During October, you will have the chance to sign up for your Parent’s Evening Appointment. Look out for the link coming home around 6th. If you don’t sign up, you will be allocated a slot.

Friday 10th – Last Day of Term 1 – Harvest Service at Wormit Church at 9.30am. All P1-7 children will attend with their teacher unless you contact the school office to opt them out. All parents are welcome – please fill up the pews from the back. Nursery parents are welcome to bring their child if they want and then drop them off at nursery afterwards. Let the staff know they will be in late so that their lunch can be ordered.

Monday 13th October – Friday 24th October – School and Nursery closed for October Holiday

Monday 27th – First Day of Term 2

Thurs 30th – Parent Council Halloween Disco

Friday 31st – P1-7 children can bring a costume to put on after lunch for an afternoon of Halloween Craft

Lost Property

Please come and check lost property before the end of term if your child has lost any items. It will be removed in the holidays – if items are names they will be returned to the child and un-named items will be given to the local charity shops.

Message from Active Schools

Dear Parents and Carers,
We’re excited to share a new SWAY link that brings together information from a wide range of clubs and activity providers in your area. Whether you’re looking for something fun, active, or creative for your children—or even the whole family—there’s something for everyone!
Please take a moment to explore the SWAY and discover opportunities to get involved, stay active, and enjoy time together.
Best wishes,
Elizabeth F Anderson
Senior Active Schools Co-ordinator
Playtime Snacks
P1-7 children should bring a snack for morning break. We recommend something that will fill them up until lunchtime – fruit, crackers, cheese, plain biscuits are all good examples. Crisps and sweet biscuits or bars are also good for a treat. Please remember that there is only 15 minutes so we recommend just one snack as there isn’t time to eat more. Please don’t send sweets for a snack (haribos etc) as these don’t fill your child up – they give them a quick sugar rush and then they are hungry again before lunchtime.
