We have had a wonderful first term together in Primary 3/4! The children have done a fantastic job settling into our classroom routines, making new friendships and showing enthusiasm and curiosity and in their learning.

In Literacy, we have been developing our knowledge of new spelling sounds and patterns along with learning how to use adjectives to make our writing more exciting and descriptive. The children have enjoyed putting what they have learned in creating some fantastic descriptive reports about sea animals!

In Numeracy, we have been busy exploring place value, rounding, shape and symmetry. We have even used natural materials to investigate symmetry in the world around us, making our learning hands on and fun!

We have been exploring the exciting world of Pop Art, taking inspiration from the famous artist Andy Warhol. The children have loved experimenting with bold colours, patterns and creative ideas to produce their own Pop Art inspired artwork.

We have also been very lucky to take part in football sessions with Kelty Hearts Football Club. The children have thoroughly enjoyed developing their football skills, teamwork and confidence while having lots of fun along the way.

We have begun an exciting new topic, ‘Land, Sea and Sky’. We have loved exploring the world around us, learning about our planet, the different environments on Earth and the fascinating space beyond our skies. We are excited to see where our learning will take us next!

What a busy and exciting first term it has been! We are looking forward to all the adventures and learning that is yet to come!
