Welcome to P3/4 class page with Miss Wilson and Mrs Taylor
This term our mini topic is Scotland. We have been learning about clans and different types of tartan. We are busy working on a Scottish Country Dance and a poem to perform at the Ceilidh. We have been working in groups to locate different places within Scotland using maps.
During our numeracy time we have been learning to multiply using different strategies. We have been drawing arrays to help calculate multiplication sums. In our mental maths we have been continuing to work on doubling, halving and missing number problems. Mrs Taylor has been working on time with us this term too.
We have been working on tools for writing with a focus on connectives, openers and punctuation. We have been linking our writing to our Scottish books- Greyfriars Bobby and Hamish McHaggis.
Our literacy focus has been answering comprehension questions and using the text to support our answers. We have also been revisiting how to use commas in a list.
In our RME time we have been discussing forgiveness and talking about scenarios where we have had to ask for forgiveness and say sorry. We have also been looking at the Holy Trinity and how it is a way to describe God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
For PE we have been learning the skills for hockey and also creative dance. We will be moving on to gymnastics after this.
