The term wellbeing has become central to the work we do in supporting children, young people and families, and is central to the Getting it Right For Every Child focus at both a local and national level. There are well established links between mental and physical health, and that is why we should consider wellbeing as a holistic concept.
Our wellbeing is not static – our physical and mental health fluctuate in response to internal and external variables. When we have good levels of wellbeing we feel that life is well balanced, we feel more resilient, and we can cope more effectively with any challenges that might come our way.
The guidance & resources within this site help us to focus on how we can ensure our wellbeing is as positive as it can be. This will enable all practitioners to provide effective support for the children & young people in our care.
