Attunement

Attunement is the quality of being in tune with something, particularly a person. Some experts believe attunement involves activating the brain’s mirror neurons, which are thought to be networks in the brain that respond to other people’s emotions and actions as if they were our own, helping people bond with one another.

Positive teacher learner  interaction has a very crucial role for effective teaching & learning to take place. The relationship between teacher & learner is one of the most influential factors in an educational setting.

The majority of our communication is nonverbal. Between head nods, smiles, frowns, closed postures, head tilts, raised hands and excited pacing, teachers, and learners send hundreds of non-verbal cues to one another daily.

Positive body language in a classroom setting has the ability to motivate, inspire and engage. It can not only give you the confidence you need to teach but can also reassure your learner that you actually know what you’re talking about. It can even make your learners feel safe and confident enough to participate in the lessons more frequently.

When teaching, the nonverbal cues need to convey warmth and empathy, reminding your students that you are approachable and there to help them grow.
