Welcome to Paxton Nursery – a warm, friendly, and nurturing place where children play, learn, and grow with confidence. Nestled in the heart of Methil, Fife, our nursery has been part of the local community for generations. Originally founded in 1934 by Miss Paxton in Lower Methil, the nursery moved into its purpose-built building in 1960 — one of the first of its kind in Fife. We are proud of this rich history and of the generations of families who have passed through our doors.

At Paxton Nursery, we believe that early childhood should be full of curiosity, creativity, and joy. Our caring and experienced team provide a safe, stimulating environment where every child is valued and supported to reach their full potential. We welcome children aged two to five, offering high-quality early learning and childcare as part of Fife Council’s Early Years provision.

Our bright playrooms and outdoor spaces are designed to spark imagination and encourage exploration. We work closely with parents and carers, recognising that families are a child’s first and most important teachers. Together, we create strong partnerships that help children feel secure, confident, and excited about learning.

Welcome to Paxton Nursery

We’re thrilled to welcome you and your child to Paxton Nursery. For many families, this is the start of an exciting learning journey, and we are here to make it a positive, enjoyable experience for every child and family.

At Paxton, we believe that strong partnerships with families are at the heart of a child’s development. Our aim is to help every child grow into a happy, confident, and curious individual who loves learning, interacts positively with others, and feels safe and cared for.

Our nursery offers a nurturing, fun, and engaging environment where children are encouraged to explore, be independent, and learn to care for themselves and each other. Beyond supporting children’s learning and development, we also provide opportunities for families to get involved through workshops, family groups, and community activities.

We can’t wait to get to know you and your child, and to share in this wonderful journey together here at Paxton Nursery.
