Friday 22nd March

Another busy week of learning in P7.

We enjoyed competing in team challenges during loose parts this week. It was good to see lots of cooperation and creativity on display.

On Thursday, we worked well with our buddies to carry out a spring senses hunt in our playground.

We held an interesting debate about the growing issue of gaming addiction. We made notes about both sides of the debate and then used these to write discussion pieces of writing. We are working on using persuasive language and also using statistics to back up our arguments.

In Numeracy, we have been exploring negative numbers and carrying out different calculations.

We have been learning about sound in movies and the first animated films. We enjoyed creating and presenting our own silent movies in Drama.

In art, we used observation skills to create realistic artwork of daffodils. We also used watercolour paints for effect. We then dissected the daffodils in Science to learn about the parts of a plant.

Today, we have written great senses colour poems all about spring to share at next week’s Spring Service.

We have also been developing our French reading and writing skills.

In P.E, we have continued to work on our hockey skills. We also enjoyed rehearsing the Scottish Dances for next week’s P7 ceilidh at Madras.

Today was our final Committee session of this term and we have reflected on the progress made.
