Friday 8th March

On Monday, we shared our experience of Dalguise with the whole school at Together Time, and then with our families in the afternoon. A huge thanks to everyone who managed to come along to hear about what we learned, the skills we developed and our greatest achievements.

We have started our new topic, The History of Film and Film-Making, by learning about the early days of film and we are looking forward to creating our own films later in the topic.

In Numeracy, we have been carrying out calculations involving the 4 operations and have revisited finding equivalent fractions in our mental maths. We have also been exploring circles and angles within a triangle.

We enjoyed participating in a national writing competition this week, where we had to write a 100 word saga based on a crazy creature! It was fun to let our imagination run wild. Winning entries will be published in a book.

In Health and Wellbeing, we have been learning about peer pressure linked to smoking. In P.E, we have developed our skills further in hockey. We enjoyed creating dances in other P.E session. We also participated in a quiz and designed new covers for our favourite books as part of World Book Day. There were lots of fantastic costumes on display!

We are running the book fair for the next few days, helping the other classes and judging a whole school competition. Our House Captains have also helped organise a whole school inter-house archery competition. Today, we also helped run our pupil committees.
