This week in P6 we have continued filming our road safety adverts. We focused on important topics such as cycling safety, walking in the dark, the Green Cross Code and staying safe in and around cars. We used iMovie to edit our videos and scripted our own voice overs. Once completed, we shared our adverts with the rest of the class and gave each other constructive feedback to help improve our work.
In biodiversity, we have been learning about the biodiversity of food. We explored food webs and investigated the journey from farm to fork in a range of different meals. This helped us understand where our food comes from and how living things are connected.
In writing, we wrote friendly letters to our future buddies. We told them all about Newport, what their classroom might look like and what a typical school day could include to help them feel excited and prepared.
We also began learning British Sign Language (BSL) and started by learning the alphabet.
In reading, we explored persuasive texts about endangered animals. We identified facts, opinions and persuasive language, and discussed how authors use these techniques to influence the reader.
