Thursday 12th September with Mrs Robertson

Today we have been learning about how easily germs can spread. We did a very interesting experiment where we used glitter to represent germs. one person put the glitter on their hands and we saw how quickly it spread onto everyone else and onto different surfaces. We discussed the different times we should wash our hands and why and we also spoke about the importance of using soap and not just water. Mrs Robertson showed us an experiment that illustrated how effective soap can be against germs. We all wanted to try this at home so the instructions have been uploaded. Finally we created hand washing super heroes to remind us to wash our hands. next week we will be looking at the best way to wash our hands and we hope to make a video. Why Soap Works Experiment Instructions Activity

In maths, we looked at measure. The primary 2’s were comparing three or more lengths and we found out that Logan is the tallest in the class at the moment. The Primary 3’s were learning to estimate and measure in metres. We measured windows, doors and even the classroom!

In outdoor learning we made small animal homes in groups after watching a nation geographic kids video. We all had lots of fun as we carefully considered which materials to use and where to build. I wander if any bugs or animals will move in?
