Happy Friday and Happy Holidays!

We have had a great week in Primary 1.

Literacy- We were learning about Acrostic poems. We all wrote one about Summer. We did beautiful pictures to go with our poems. Our special handwriting letter was Kk. We practised our key reading words.

PE- We loved playing house football. We also enjoyed taking part in the mile.

We loved meeting our new teacher. We did a little piece of learning to take with us on our visit to our new classroom.

Numeracy- We worked on our numbers to 20 and 100. We had some time playing on Sum Dog.

We have been practising songs to sing at our Buddies leaving Together Time.

Happy Friday !

Literacy- We all enjoyed presenting our individual talks to each other about either our pets or our hobbies. We all asked and answered questions well. We all enjoyed our reading books this week. We wrote poems about summer. We have been learning some more common words this week.
Maths/Numeracy- We have been continuing our numbers to 20/100 and our money learning. We had some time on Sum Dog.

PE- We loved playing house bench ball and house football. We also enjoyed taking part in the whole school mile.

Health- We were learning about making sure we stay safe in the sun. We designed some very cool sunglasses.

Happy Friday!

Art- We have been working on a surprise for our dads.

Literacy- We have been practising our mini talks about our pets or hobbies. Remember to keep practising at home too.  We all enjoyed our reading books this week. We have been practising some of our tricky words.

Maths/Numeracy- We have been continuing our money and numbers to 20/100 learning. We had some time playing Sum Dog.

PE- We took part in the mile. We also played scatter rounders.

Health- We were thinking about all the activities we can do to help our minds and bodies.

Topic- We used the paint programme to draw different people who help us.

Happy Friday !

We have had lots of fun taking part in lots of sports activities to celebrate the World Cup and the Commonwealth games.

Literacy- We have been practising some of our tricky words. We all enjoyed our reading books this week.
As part of World Ocean day we made Save our Ocean posters and made paper plate fish.

Maths/ Numeracy- We did a weighing activity. This was fun. We also worked on our numbers to 20/100 learning .

Topic- We had a visit from Brodies dad and his crew. We loved getting to use the hoses. We also got to sit inside the fire engine.

PE- We took part in house football, wake up shake up, bowling , relay running, cross country, target zone, bench ball , scatter rounders , long jump and sports day races.

Happy Friday from Primary 1!

We have had another fun week.
Topic – We had a visit from Elyn’s dad who is a doctor. We learned about his job and asked him lots of questions.
Health- We discussed that our families are all different but very special to us. We drew detailed pictures of who lives in our house with us.
Literacy- Our piece of writing was about Elyn’s dad. We all enjoyed our reading books. Our spelling words all ended in y.
Maths/Numeracy- We have been continuing our numbers to 20/100 learning and our money learning.
PE- We have been enjoying practising for sports day.

PE- We loved practising some of our races for sports day. Our favourite was the sack race. We loved taking part in the whole school mile.

Maths/Numeracy- We have been continuing our numbers to 20/100 and our money learning. We enjoyed some time on Sum Dog.

Literacy – We did a piece of writing about our visit from two police officers. We loved hearing all about their jobs and having a chance to look at their police car. We all enjoyed our reading books this week. We have been learning all about magic e.
Health- We were learning about what babies need to be safe, healthy and happy.
Art- We drew very cool pictures of ambulances. We used a step by step video to help us.

We loved presenting our assembly ‘People who help us’. We received some lovely feedback – Thank you 😄

PE- We have been continuing try our different athletics stations. We also enjoyed taking part in in the mile.
Numeracy- We continued our numbers to 20/100 learning. We also did a little money work.

Literacy – We all enjoyed our reading books this week. Our new final consonant blend was ck.

Outdoor learning- We went on a walk ( journey ) to the woods. We loved walking with our P7 Buddies and having time to explore there. We also loved making pancakes with Tony Crelland. All these activities are part of our Natural Connections Programme.

We have had another hard working week in Primary 1.

Outdoor learning – We enjoyed time exploring the large loose parts.

PE – We enjoyed trying out different athletics stations. We also enjoyed taking part in the mile.

Numeracy/Maths – We have been continuing with our numbers to 20/100 learning. We have also been working on our money learning. We enjoyed some time on sum dog.
Literacy- We enjoyed our reading books this week. Our spelling words ended in all and ell. Our handwriting letter was Gg. our piece of writing was about Police officers.

Art- We drew our own police cars using a step by step video. They look cool!

Topic- We have been practising for our assembly on Monday.

A short but busy week in Primary 1.

We have been practising for our special assembly about ‘People who help us’.

Art- We printed firefighters. They look great !

Literacy-Our final consonant blend was ft. Our special handwriting letter was Ff. We all enjoyed our reading books this week.  We loved sharing a book with our P7 Buddies. Our piece of writing was about our school lollipop man.

Maths/ Numeracy- We have been working on our numbers to 20/100 learning. We also did some weight and capacity learning.

We enjoyed taking part in the mile.

Outdoor learning- We explored with the large loose parts.  We also did some planting with our P7 Buddies.

Today is Miss Appleby’s last day in our class. We will miss her.

We have had a great week in Primary 1.

Music/ Science – We got to experiment with different instruments. We discussed what they were made of and what we had to do to make them play.
Literacy – We all enjoyed our reading books this week. Our new final consonant blends were ng and nk. Our piece of writing was about Firefighters. We were practising the letter Ee during handwriting time.
Maths/ Numeracy – We have been continuing with our numbers to 20/100 and measure learning . We made wiggly worms and put them in order from the shortest to the longest.
PE- We all enjoyed running the mile. We also enjoyed trying out different athletics stations.
Outdoor Learning- Our Buddies helped us measure different objects in the playground using natural materials.

Health-We were discussing different brain breaks we could have.
