Masterton Primary School

Severe Weather Information

Dear Parents

During winter there have been times when we have had to shut due to the severe weather. This is a rare occurrence but has happened in the past. If the school has to close the following channels will be used to convey this:

Online – Visit www.fife.gov.uk and click on ‘Emergency Closures, Disruptions and Severe Weather’ bar on the front page.

Groupcall – A Groupcall message will be sent out as soon as the decision to close has been made. This decision will be made as early as possible in the morning. A Groupcall message will also be sent out confirming when the school will re-open.

Facebook – The school facebook page will display a message.

Radio – Kingdom FM, Forth One and Tay FM.

If the school closes then information about activities to be carried out will either be on the school website (P.4-7 class pages) or on Seesaw (P.1-3). Teachers will ensure pupils have any information they need to be able to carry this out.

In the past we have been able to ‘meet’ with the pupils and carry out an assembly or read a story or just to check in. We intend to continue this. Any links to ‘meetings’ will be sent through Groupcall in advance of any ‘meetings’.

Hopefully none of this will need to be used but it is better to be prepared just in case.

Regards
