Our Vision Statement
‘We aspire to be a place where everyone feels valued and respected, where everyone will achieve their full potential in a welcoming environment that nurtures and challenges the whole child. We aspire to be a school where excellent quality learning and teaching takes place.’
Welcome to the website of Masterton Primary School. We hope you find the information on this site both interesting and informative.
Masterton Primary School is based in the Eastern Expansion of Dunfermline. The school opened in November 2006 with only 5 classes. We now have 15 classes covering Primaries 1 – 7 with a role of around 430 pupils.
It is a single storey building with 2 main teaching areas. Primaries 1-4 are accommodated in one wing and P.5-7 are accommodated in another wing. An extension was added to the school in 2021 which houses the P.1/2 and P.2 classes. Currently one class (P.3b) is based in the community lounge. An assembly hall / gym hall, music room and library areas make up the rest of the accommodation.
Outside the school has large grounds with a large playing field timetabled for use by all the children. Play equipment including a climbing wall and gymnastic bars are also available in the playground.
Our overarching aim at Masterton is summed up by our vision statement. We want everyone to become confident, responsible citizens within a secure and welcoming environment.
At all times we strive to provide the highest possible standard of education to meet the needs of our pupils.
We have a supportive Parent Council and an active Parent/Teacher Association called FROMPS (Friends of Masterton Primary School).
Masterton is firmly committed to an open-door policy and we welcome parents to school as equal partners in the provision of education for our pupils.
