Universal Level

Universal planning and support is for all children and young people.

What does this look like in practice?

  • Class teacher planning in response to the needs of the learners
  • Some children may have a ‘Summary of Support‘ document where there is an identified additional support need or wellbeing need.  The summary of support document summarises the support strategies that have been identified to support the child/young person.  This supports communication to all key staff involved and is updated as needs change.
  • Support for Learning teacher – works in collaboration with class teacher to implement, monitor and review learner progress.
  • Health Care Plan – pupils with identified medical conditions may require a health care plan if responsive and proactive measures are required
