Welcome to Lawhead Primary School and Nursery

Lawhead Primary opened in 1974 and is situated on the periphery of St Andrews close to the western section of the Ladebraes Walk.  It is an open plan building and has a nursery within the building with outside garden space.

The school roll is currently sitting around 220. There are extensive grounds for the children to play and learn in. The nursery roll has a capacity of 30 with an extensive and well developed outside space.

Within the main school there are, at present, eight open teaching areas.  Each teaching area has a small side room adjacent where the class can meet together and shut the door.  We have a large multipurpose hall which is used extensively throughout the week for P.E., drama, music, assemblies, school productions, having lunch and after school clubs.
