LGBT+ History Month (LGBT+ Committee)
Welcome to #LGBTHistoryMonth at KHS! This month we will be Tweeting (@KHS_LGBT) a daily historical event and finishing off with a celebration of Purple Friday! Stay tuned!

For all of S6 – Photos for Paige (Ms Mahr & Mrs Kerek)
We are collecting photos from various departments to put into a beautiful keepsake photo box for Paige’s family when we give them the book of condolences. If you have photos of Paige from school shows or projects or class etc. and you would like them to be included with this, could you please see Ms Mahr by Friday 4 February to organise getting the photos to her.

Sutton Trust Applications – S5 Pupils (Miss Fotheringham)
S5 pupils who are planning on applying to university, you have the opportunity to apply for a week long Sutton Trust Summer School where you will experience student life at one of the UK’s top universities. S5 Lift Off Participants (Miss Nessel)
You will soon be receiving your IAP form. You should complete this before your 1-2-1 meeting with Abertay University on 15 February (held in school – more details will follow soon).

Fife Council Trade Apprenticeships (Mrs Lautredou)
Fife Council Trade Apprenticeships close this week. If you need help with your application, please pop and along and see the Careers Advisers.

Fife College Applications (Mrs Lautredou)
Fife College Applications for courses starting in August are now open – if you need help with your application or want to talk about which course to pick, pop along and see the Careers Advisers. Just to note that some courses fill up quickly, particularly Construction and some Childcare so look to apply sooner rather than later.

Wider Achievements (Mrs Duckett)
Please send Mrs Duckett – or school email – any achievements you have had outside school. Sport, hobbies, music, performances, clubs, cadets, animal training etc. Photos and/or videos would be brilliant. This is for the next ‘achievement round up’ before the February break. Thanks.

S1 Football (Mr Pennel)
Could all S1 footballers interested in playing in an upcoming fixture please attend a meeting today at break in the Boys’ Gym.

Senior Football (Mr English)
All boys who wish to be considered for the Scottish Shield tie at Aberdeen on Friday must attend a meeting in the Boys’ Changing room at break today.

Mental Health Ambassadors (Miss Hay)
There will be a meeting today at lunch in B6. Please arrive promptly for 1:10pm – feel free to bring your lunch.

Craft Club (Mrs Patton)
Craft Club will not be on after school today but will be on Thursday lunchtime in C6.

KHS Community Choir (Mrs Duckett)
Choir is cancelled this week and will resume next week.

S1 Football (Mr Pennel)
Training after school is cancelled due to a staff meeting after school.

Badminton Club (Mr Harrower)
Badminton Club is cancelled this week. The club will resume next week.

Girls’ Football (Miss Steedman)
Girls’ football is cancelled today due to a staff meeting.

S1 Assembly (Mr Harrower)
There will be an assembly for all S1 pupils during tutor tomorrow. You should register with your tutor teacher then go straight to the assembly hall.

Raspberry Pi Club (Miss Nessel)
Due to Mr Davidson-Kelly being absent, we will be cancelling the Raspberry Pi club for this session. Apologies to those of you who have shown an interest, we will try again next year.

House Captain Meeting (Miss Hay)
There will be a House Captain meeting tomorrow at 1:10pm on B6. This is a compulsory meeting for all captains to attend – if you cannot make it please speak to your House Leader in advance.

Little Shop of Horrors (Mr McPherson)
Rehearsals for Little Shop of Horrors will be on tomorrow for all performers. Come prepared for movement and dance.

Rugby Club (Mr Stewart)
The new extra-curricular rugby club starts this week. This will take place on a Thursday after school from 3:15pm to 4:15pm on the school Astro pitch. This new club is open to all year groups and is being run in partnership with Kirkcaldy Rugby Club. Please bring warm gear and report to the PE dept.

Bowling with LEAP Sports (Dr Murray)
February is LGBT History Month and to mark that LEAP Sports have organised a bowling competition on Sunday 20 February at Tenpin Falkirk. It’s for aged 14+ – if you fancy being part of it see Dr Murray in A4!

LGBT+ Group (LGBT+ Committee)
The legendary and amazing LGBT+ Group meets every Tuesday lunchtime in A4 (Dr Murray’s room in Science) for anyone who wants to have a nice place to sit and enjoy their lunch, get to know other people, make badges and make keyrings. EVERYONE and ANYONE is welcome, hope to see you there!

WEDNESDAY 2 FEBRUARY

Guitar Lessons (Mrs Simpson)
Lessons are on today in the music department. You can find your time on Teams or on the department timetable board in E11.

Guitar Group (Mrs Simpson)
Guitar group is on today in E13. Please bring your lunch and be ready to play for 1:15pm.

Keyboard Group (Mrs Simpson)
Keyboard group is on today in E10 with Mr Duncan.

S1-S3 Maths Homework Support (Mr Jones)
Maths homework club with Mr Jones will run weekly every Wednesday lunchtime (1:15-1:40pm) for pupils in S1 to S3. Grab your lunch first and come along to C3 for homework support.

Homework Club (Mrs Patton)
Homework club will be running each Wednesday in C6 from 3:20-4:10pm for all year groups, all subjects.

Equalities Group (Ms Mahr)
Come along and meet the Equalities Group on Wednesday lunchtimes at 1pm (bring your lunch) in C12! Everyone is welcome and we look forward to seeing you all!

S4-S6 Senior Netball (Mrs Little)
Senior netball will run on Wednesday after school in the Games Hall from 3:15-4:30pm. All new and experienced players welcome.

Biology Study Support (Miss Irvine)
Biology study support will now be running every Wednesday after school from 3:30-4:30pm in A1. It is welcome to all S3-S6 Biology students. Hope to see some of you there!
