Dear Parent / Carer,
Welcome to our weekly family and community communication that provides a Headteacher overview of the weeks events and other school-based events and information.
The week that’s been…
It was a hold on to your hat kind of week in more ways than one. The busiest week of the year but what a thoroughly enjoyable one also.
On Monday, I attended the Friends of Kirkcaldy High School (FoKHS) AGM. As always, we are really grateful of all the support from FoKHS. It was great to hear of their support through fundraising events, dedicated time in school to help with prelim exam diets as well as the financial contribution throughout the year with school shows, benches and many other purchases to support.
On Tuesday, we held our annual prizegiving. A great occasion to celebrate the wide diverse range of achievements from our young people. From sport, to academia to just the amazing people they are and show each and everyday. A wonderful event and enjoyed by all. Thank you to everyone involved in organising, setting up and taking part!
On Wednesday and Thursday we welcomed our new S1 for their transition days to KHS. I have to say, they were an amazing group of young people and I enjoyed speaking to them over the course of the days. First time I have felt like a rockstar! Massive thanks to Mrs Gibb and all our team for their support over the days.
On Friday, we celebrated all things Scotland with the school community taking part in a Scottish themed day ahead of a crucial game with Morocco this evening. The school was awash with blue and some ‘see you Jimmie’ hats!
The week ahead…
Next week, things settle down with some visits and trips out of school taking place.
A reminder that school closes on Friday 3rd July at 1.05pm for our young people. We re-open on Wednesday 19th August for learners after the summer break.
This is the last Our week, Our school. We will share information about our SIP and an end of term letter before the end of school.
Best wishes,
Chris McKay
