Dear Parent / Carer,
Welcome to our weekly family and community communication that provides a Headteacher overview of the weeks events and other school-based events and information. This is the last weekly communication for this term.
The week that’s been…
Second last week of term has whizzed past and we enter the final week before the end of a very long term!
On Tuesday, we celebrated Eid with a party at lunch time. It was great to see many of our young people, colleagues and elected members join in and support this annual event in KHS. Huge thanks to Dr Murray for his organisation and for everyone who supported and attended.
Today, we held assemblies for learners in S4-6 with our chief invigilator Dee Maloney speaking to all learners, sharing information and expectations for the upcoming National Qualifications.
S2 also had an assembly today, with Mrs Hamilton and colleagues sharing information about the S3 short courses. Colleagues shared various short course offerings and learners were able to make choices through the assembly. These short courses allow young people the opportunity for wider achievement and skills development outwith there agreed curricular offering.
If you want to read more about what is happening here at KHS, please follow our blog.
Important information – There was an IT outage across Fife today affecting our systems. Consequently, attendance was taken manually and no texts, calls or emails could be made. Staff in school continued checks for vulnerable learners. The system is now back online and hopefully ready for Monday.
The week ahead…
Next week is the last week of term with school closing at 3.25pm on Thursday 2nd April 2026. Thursday, 2nd April will be a non-uniform day. As always, we would ask those who can donate to do so for charity. This term we will be donating to Comic Relief.
Thank you to all families for your support over this term and session so far! I hope you have a relaxing break when it comes.
Best wishes,
Chris McKay
