Our Week, Our School 06/03/26

Dear Parent / Carer,

Welcome to our weekly family and community communication that provides a Headteacher overview of the weeks events and other school-based events and information.

The week that’s been…

The weather has improved over the week, and it’s been all sunshine and rainbows here at KHS!

Over the course of this week, our young people have been involved in lots of varied activities as well as heads down in class and working hard.

On Tuesday, learners in S5 had 1 to 1 meetings with their guidance teachers looking at coursing for S6. Our Guidance colleagues were impressed with the preparation all our learners had prior to the meeting making things run smoothly. Well done to all.

On Wednesday, we held year group assemblies. These were themed around raising awareness of fire antisocial behaviour from Scottish Fire and Rescue Service with S1-3 year groups. For S4-6, the assemblies were focussed on supports for upcoming examinations and sharing information about how to register to vote in upcoming elections.

On Thursday, our learning ambassadors had a video call with our partner school in Finland. Around 60 learners took part in a call showcasing KHS, our culture, learning and answering many questions from students in Finland. A great experience for all. Massive thanks to Mrs Duckett for all her work organising and supporting!

Moreover, Thursday was World Book Day and as ever our English department did not disappoint! Some fantastic costumes from the staff team and lots of fun had by across the day.

As ever, if you want to read more about what is happening here at KHS, please follow our blog.
