Hot Meal:  Soup of the day, Italian Meatball Sub served with Southern Fried Wedges or Italian Vegan Sub with Wedges. Chicken Fries at breaktime.

Poster advertising The Juniors House Chase, a house competition event for S1 to S3 pupils. The blue-themed poster explains that teams of three pupils (one from S1, one from S2 and one from S3) will compete in a quickfire quiz challenge against "the Chaser". The event takes place in the Assembly Hall at lunchtime on Tuesday 6 October. Participants can earn house points and have a chance to win a five-minute early-out-of-class pass. A QR code is included for sign-up, and spectators are welcome to attend for free.

We’re looking for teams from every house to take part in The Juniors House Chase at lunchtime in the Assembly Hall on Tuesday 6 October.

✅ Open to all houses
✅ Teams of 3 pupils (one from S1, one from S2, and one from S3)
✅ Earn valuable house points
✅ Chance to win a 5-minute early-out-of-class pass valid until Friday
✅ Participants leave class 5 minutes early before lunch

Not competing? Come along and watch! Entry is free, and donations for sweets are welcome.

Fife Schools Gymnastics (Mrs Poynter)
If you are interested in the Fife school’s gymnastics please come along to the PE department Monday lunch time for a gymnastics session, bring PE kit.

UCAS Sign Up (Mrs Kendrick)
UCAS sign up this week in Social Education. Charge your I pads ahead of class. Please ensure you are in Social Education to sign up for UCAS and get your buzzword and important information about personal statements and key dates.
If you are in S5 and want to apply to university, please speak to your Social Education teacher about joining the S6 Social Education class that period so you do not miss out. Or, failing any of the above see Mrs Kendrick.

Netball (Mrs Poynter & Steedman)
Netball will be cancelled after school this Tuesday due to Mrs Poynter and Mrs Steedman having a meeting after school . It will resume as normal after the holidays.

S1 Scottish Shield Tie (Mr Geissler/Mr Mooney)
Can all those selected to represent KHS in the S1 Scottish Shield tie against Queen Anne this afternoon please meet in the Inclusion Hub at 3:00pm (no earlier).

A HUGE well done to our regular litter pickers who have now earned their 25 Hour Saltire Award! 🎉 This nationally recognised volunteering award is a fantastic achievement and looks brilliant on CVs, College and University applications.
It’s never too late to start volunteering! 💚 If you’d like to get involved, you would be very welcome to join the Middleden Green Team at one of our future litter picks. 🌳🗑️

Active Schools Meeting (Kalia Dair)
Can anyone who is part of the Active Schools Young Leadership Pathway (Young Leader or Ambassador) please attend a meeting on Wednesday 7th October at lunchtime, in the Active Schools Coordinator Office (across from IT suite). If anyone isn’t already involved, but would like to be, please feel free to attend and see if it’s something you would be interested in. Please get your lunch first then you can bring it up with you.

Stem opportunity: Young WEIR-WISE: Discovering Engineering with S2 Girls (Dr Black)
