Our Week, Our School 09/01/26

Dear Parent / Carer,

Welcome to our weekly family and community communication that provides a Headteacher overview of the weeks events and other school-based events and information.

The week that’s been…

Happy New Year to all our families! I hope you had an enjoyable festive period.

It has been a great week here in KHS, and it’s always great to see our young people in school. I have enjoyed speaking to many of them and hearing all about their time off and of course, how good Santa was to them!

Over this week, I have been in and out of classes welcoming all our young people back to school. In classes, learning in well underway and I have been privileged to see first-hand some fantastic learning experiences.

Over the course of this week, we have taken part in the Anne Frank Project: A History for Today. In A History for Today, the Anne Frank Trust UK bring a pop-up exhibition about Anne Frank into the school for a week. The exhibition engages young people in the history the Holocaust through the story of Anne Frank and her family.

As part of this we had learners in S2 and S3 work with the team to first learn and then deliver to learners in S1 and S2 across the week. Well done to our S2 and S3 peer educators for facilitating this project. A huge thanks to Mrs Harrower for organising and supporting this important event.

As ever, if you want to read more about what is happening here at KHS, please follow our blog.
