The “Set for Success programme” is an intensive youth leadership initiative funded by the Wimbledon Foundation in partnership with Barclays, and The Wimbledon Foundation, and delivered by the Youth Sport Trust.
Today our group of pupils, had the amazing experience to celebrate their success in planning, preparing, and completing a social action project in the National home of Scottish Rugby, Murryfield. Our new fourth years have been engaged with the Set for Success programme in school over the last year and have been working together with their athlete mentor Laura Pilkington. Networking with their peers from other schools, as well as meeting and hearing inspiring stories form potential future employers was also on the menu. Lots of learning and fun was had too.
Our six students certainly flew the flag high and represented KHS today with enthusiasm, pride, and respect. They really pushed themselves out of their comfort zones and presenting their social action project to 150 peers from other schools from around the East of Scotland, Youth Sport Trust staff and potential employers. Only one other school chose to do this, whilst other schools presented to small groups of 10 people.
Well done everyone!
