S2 Netball (Mrs Steedman)
The netball game tonight has been cancelled due to Levenmouth not being able to get enough players. So we have been awarded the points.

S2 Football (Mr Geissler)
Could all S2 boys interested in paying in upcoming games come to B2 at break time for a meeting.

BBC Young Reporter Competition (Mrs Whyte)
Are you interested in journalism, storytelling, the media? Do you have a really good personal story to tell? The BBC are looking for stories to share on their website, news, tv, radio and podcasts. If you are interested in sharing your story – Mrs Whyte will be helping pupils with the BBC Young Reporter competition. Come along to C13 Wednesday lunchtime to hear more.

College Applications (J Davidson)
Anyone in S5/6 who is considering applying to college FULLTIME for Sept 2023 (even as a maybe), should come to D8 on Friday, Pd 4. Places fill up quickly so need to get an application in asap!

Anyone interested in going to college for 2 afternoons a week next session, should attend a short meeting at tutor on Friday in the Assembly Hall. No applications are necessary but an initial list of those interested will be submitted to college.

Washington Trip (Mrs Steedman)
Can all pupils involved in the school Washington trip please attend a meeting at 1:15pm on Friday (3 Feb) in Miss Young’s room – B14. Please see Miss Young, Mr Sanderson or me if you cannot attend.

S6 Yearbook – Urgency (Miss Lipton)
Last call for all Yearbook submissions.. statements, photos & signatures need to be submitted before 10 February. Last date for cash payments is Tuesday 14 February & iPayimpact payments Friday 17 February. See Miss Lipton ASAP if there are any issues.

Fife Council Apprenticeships (Mr Scott)
These are now open and can be accessed through this link and search for “apprenticeships”. If you need any further information, please see myself or Mrs Davidson.

Fife Festival of Music Permission Slips (Mrs Duckett)
Fife Festival of Music Permission Slips must be returned to the music department as soon as possible please. Hand in to Mrs Simpson or Mrs Duckett if you are participating in Choir, String Group, Wind Band and/or Guitar Club.

Bowling with LEAP Sports (Dr Murray)
February is LGBT History Month and to mark that LEAP Sports have organised a bowling competition on Sunday 12 February at Tenpin Falkirk. It’s for aged 14+ – if you fancy being part of it see Dr Murray in A4!

S6 Leaver Hoodies (Mrs Rae)
S6 Leaver Hoodies can now be paid for on iPayimpact. They are priced at £22 and this includes nickname and a huge choice of colours. All payments to be in by 16 February. Please come and talk to Mrs Rae if you have any questions or there are any barriers to you being able to pay for a hoodie.

DYW Padlet (Mrs Whyte)
Lots of new things on the Padlet including:

  • Apprenticeships – Fife Council Trades, Diageo, Babcock, University of St Andrews
  • Volunteering Opportunities – including opportunities for those aged 13+ who want to start their careers early.
  • Job Fairs and Events – Including Edinburgh Airport, Jobs in Fife, Retail, Accountancy

Speak to Mrs Whyte if you require any help with applications, finding jobs or want some work experience.

Piano and Upper Strings Lessons (Mrs Simpson)
Lessons are on today in the Music department. You can find your time on Teams or on the department timetable board.

S2-S4 Music Lunch Club (Mrs Duckett)
This now takes place in E10 every day of the week, except Wednesdays.

String Group (Mrs Simpson)
The String Group will take place on Thursday lunchtime in E13.

Calm Colouring Lunch Club (Ms Geddes/Miss Millar)
If you would like a calm space to have lunch and do a bit of colouring, with the option to chat through any questions with our Mental Health Ambassadors, then this is the club for you! Head along to A3 (Science) where Miss Millar and Ms Geddes will have all the resources you need to chill out and recharge for the afternoon ahead. Today from 1:10pm.

Art Club (Mrs Donaldson)
The club will have different projects to take part in such as creating artwork for displays, competitions and seasonal activities. Bring your packed/cold lunch to D15, Art Department 1pm, Thursdays.

Film & Media Study Support (Mr McPherson)
Film and Media study support for S3 is on today after school in Studio 1.

FRIDAY 3 FEBRUARY

Woodwind and Brass Lessons (Mrs Simpson)
Lessons are on today in the Music department. You can find your time on Teams or on the department timetable board.

S2-S4 Music Lunch Club (Mrs Duckett)
This now takes place in E10 every day of the week, except Wednesdays.

Card Club (Mrs Rae)
Come along to the PSO base at lunchtime to play various card games and make new friends. Maybe your friends are off, and you have nowhere to go or you see yourself as a real “card shark” all are very welcome!

Wind Band (Mrs Simpson)
The Wind Band will take place on Friday lunchtime in E13/Dance Studio.

Health Zone Drop In (Mrs Davidson)
Every Friday lunchtime, the school nurse team run a confidential drop in session. They are situated behind the careers room opposite the main office.

S1 Reading Group (Miss Britton)
S1 Reading Group during Friday lunchtimes in room B23. It’s a chance to practice reading out loud.

Have Lunch with A Hero! (Mrs Brown)
The swords and sandals are back, by popular demand! Bring your lunch along to C11, if you’d like to watch this classic with monsters by Ray Harryhausen.
