WEDNESDAY 29 JUNE

Hot Meal: Vegetable soup, Chicken korma and rice, naan bread and salad or Vegetable korma and rice.

Shambolics; Benefit Gig for Kirkcaldy Foodbank (Mr Allan)
This afternoon, all S4-6 are invited to an “unplugged” concert by the Shambolics, one of Scotland’s leading indie rock bands. Although based in Glasgow, two of the band members are former KHS pupils. Please register after lunch and your teacher will bring your class to the Hall. Prefects will be on the doors with cash collection buckets and you are asked to donate what you can. All proceeds go to the Foodbank. Well done to Darren, Scott and the guys… it’s a big hearted thing to do. Enjoy the show.

Lost Property (Mrs Spence)
If you have lost any property, please check at the office. Any unclaimed items will be donated to charity during the Summer holidays.

EMA – S5/6 (Mrs Geddes)
If you are receiving EMA at the moment, remember you need to re-apply for the next academic year. To apply you must sign in or register for a ‘mygov.scot myaccount’. Anyone needing more information, please come and ask at the school office. Application process isn’t open yet but keep an eye on Fife Council social media for details.

Paris Trip (Mrs Morris/Miss Coggill)
Can all pupils who have had a place confirmed on the Paris trip please attend a meeting today, at the beginning of lunch time in C9.

YPI Students from 2021/22 (Ms Mahr)
The Wood Foundation and Young Scot would like to congratulate all the students who took part in YPI this year! To celebrate your achievement and recognise your contribution, you are all eligible to receive 2000 Young Scot Rewards points. The points can be added to your account and exchanged for an exciting range of rewards and opportunities. If you would like the points on your account, please see Ms Mahr before Thursday 30 June of how to add these on!

S5/6 Saltire Awards (Miss Lipton)
If you’re looking for opportunities to gain Saltire hours in school, please check the Volunteer Opportunities channel in the Team – there are always teachers, departments & school staff needing a hand! Remember to log your hours at the end of each week for each supervisor through the form on the Team & if you haven’t already signed up make sure you do this ASAP. DYW Padlet (Mrs Whyte)
This week’s Padlet has been updated. This week highlights include:

  • S4-6 – Raith Rovers are looking for coaches to help with summer camps, this may lead to paid employment and coaching qualifications. Speak to Mrs Whyte by end of Monday 27 June if interested.
  • Medicine Summer School – For New S6 pupils interested in medicine NHS fie are hosting a one-week work experience at the Victoria Hospital. See poster on Padlet for more details.
  • Fife Leisure Trust – are looking to train Swimming Teachers. More details on the Padlet.
  • New Apprenticeships in – Quality, Mechanical Engineering, Admin.
  • Job Opportunities include – Temporary work at the British Open, Warehouse Operative, Production Engineer, Local Supermarkets, restaurants, and a few summer roles.

S1-S3 Maths Homework Support (Mr Jones)
Maths homework club with Mr Jones will run weekly every Wednesday lunchtime (1:15-1:40pm) for pupils in S1 to S3. Grab your lunch first and come along to C3 for homework support.

Craft Club (Mrs Patton)
For the rest of the term, Craft Club will now be on a Wednesday after school in C6 from 3:20-4:20pm. All welcome.

Are you interested in becoming a radio presenter and presenting on a local radio station? If this sounds like something you seem interested in, then head along to Dr Murray’s Room A4 in science on Thursday at lunch, to find out more information! This is open to all years, we hope to see some new faces!
