Greyfriars RC Primary School serves a wide catchment area stretching east from St Andrews along the East Neuk and west to the Tay Bridge. The school was established in 1959 but not fully funded until taken over by the County Council in 1969. At this time it was relocated to the old Burgh School and in August 2007 moved to a newly refurbished accommodation at Kilrymont Road.
We are a Roman Catholic school, Christian values and personal search are at the heart of our school ethos. We strive to share a culture of respect in a climate of mutual support and by valuing different beliefs and cultures. Prayer and reflection are important in our daily lives.
Greyfriars is noted for the diversity of its school population. As well as drawing from a wide catchment, over the years it has attracted many children from other countries. As a result the school community benefits from a rich cultural diversity as well as a good social and religious mix.
There are currently 7 classrooms on 2 storeys. There is a dedicated IT suite and library as well as additional learning spaces. Lunches are served in the school hall behind which there is a separate gym.
