Quality Improvement

Quality Improvement Programmes

These programmes are designed to improve attainment in reading and writing, while strengthening staff confidence in using improvement methodology to support high-quality learning, teaching and assessment of literacy in line with Curriculum for Excellence benchmarks and Fife documentation.

Key aims of the QI Reading and Writing programmes:

  • Target key reading or writing benchmarks to support improved outcomes for learners.
  • Use Quality Improvement methodology to support raising attainment.
  • Develop confidence and consistency in teacher professional judgement when assessing against CfE benchmarks.

  • Shape high‑quality learning, teaching and assessment approaches.
  • Ensure effective progress from the outset through well‑planned, targeted approach to the teaching of reading and writing.
  • Opportunities to moderate and work with colleagues from across the Local Authority.
