Quality Improvement Programmes
These programmes are designed to improve attainment in reading and writing, while strengthening staff confidence in using improvement methodology to support high-quality learning, teaching and assessment of literacy in line with Curriculum for Excellence benchmarks and Fife documentation.
Key aims of the QI Reading and Writing programmes:
- Target key reading or writing benchmarks to support improved outcomes for learners.
- Use Quality Improvement methodology to support raising attainment.
- Develop confidence and consistency in teacher professional judgement when assessing against CfE benchmarks.
- Through input from specialist professionals (e.g. SaLT, OT, Supporting Learners Service), teachers will develop greater insight into supporting literacy for learners with a range of Additional Support Needs.
- Shape high‑quality learning, teaching and assessment approaches.
- Ensure effective progress from the outset through well‑planned, targeted approach to the teaching of reading and writing.
- Opportunities to moderate and work with colleagues from across the Local Authority.
- Opportunities to increase confidence in using Fife Documentation.
