The ‘Early Learning in Fife Podcast’ provides a platform for guests to share insights, experiences, and expertise surrounding different curricular areas and important topics, as well as exploration of the variety of interesting and valuable things that are happening across the service.
Podcasting is a more informal and conversational approach to ‘Professional Learning.’ The format provides opportunity for the sharing of insights, ideas, and personal experiences that listeners can draw inspiration from and apply within their own practice.

Research has shown that premature birth is a risk factor that can impact children’s learning, development, academic achievement, and future adulthood. Being ‘prem aware’ enables staff to identify children at risk, pursue early interventions, and to support children through their educational journey at key transition points.
In this episode, Andrea Henderson helps us to explore what ‘prem-awareness’ means, the potential implications that being born prematurely can have for both children and their families, and provides insight into her role as Fife’s ambassador for the prem-aware charity, ‘The Smallest Things.’
Important: This episode contains discussion of premature birth, which may be a potentially sensitive topic for some listeners.
