Children across Fife have the right to be safe, cared for and protected. Everyone has a part to play in ensuring children access these rights. In Fife, we believe that “child protection is everyone’s job and everyone’s responsibility”.

In Elie, we teach children about their rights, wellbeing indicators and what to do if they are not receiving their rights. Children know that they can speak to a trusted adult if they have any worries about their safety. That trusted adult could be anyone in or out of school – it could be you!

It is important that our whole school community is aware of what to do if they are concerned about a child’s safety. Staff and visitors/volunteers in school follow protocols to report concerns to the Child Protection Coordinator and Deputes. Parents/carers and members of the public need to follow different procedures to report concerns – the school cannot pass concerns on from third party sources.

More information about child protection in Fife can be found on the Fife Council Website – Child Protection
