Parent Council

Our school is lucky to have a dedicated Denend Parent Council, who meet once a term in school.  Dates of meetings are shared in the ‘Diary Dates’ section of our website and in our regular newletters. All parents/carers are welcome to join!

The objectives of a Parent Council are:

  • To work in partnership with the school to create a welcoming school which is inclusive for all parents/carers and pupils.
  • To help the school to develop and engage in activities which support the education and welfare of pupils.
  • To identify and represent the views of parents on the education provided by the school and other matters affecting the education and welfare of the pupils.
  • To work in partnership with the local community.
  • To support fund-raising activities.

This session the Parent Council comprises of around 10 volunteer parents/carers. They have helped support the school and children by providing free events such as a halloween disco, valentines disco, end of term treats, new football kits, school trips and pantomime at Christmas.  Fund raising events are planned throughout the year and the Parent Council are very active in applying for grant funds to support school projects.
