Trip to Germany May 2011

After a very good journey we arrived here safely and in time for breakfast at school.   The sun was shining so a trip to the beach was on the menu after we visited and checked in at our accommodation.  Eylers Ranch is a new experience for all of us – it is very different but perfect for our needs, and the children are loving the space, animals and especially the swing.  A trip to the beach on Monday afternoon was great fun with the children enjoying playing on the beach and having a paddle in the river. Take away pizza in the evening finished the dax off nicely for everyone.

We had a very early rise on Tuesday morning with a 7.45 start to rehearsals.  Despite the good weather, we had a full day of rehearsals in school but it was good to meet up with friends from the other countries again.  The children had their first taste of continental shopping on this trip with a visit to the supermarket to pick up some tuck for the evening.  We came back to school in the evening for a BBQ and finished the day off back on the swing at Eylers Ranch.

After a buffet breakfast at the ranch we were in school by eight o clock (a learning curve for some).  Rehearsals finished early at noon and after lunch we headed into Oldenburg for some sight seeing and shopping.  We were treated to some delicious ice cream desserts, then managed to buy most of our presents in this lovely town.  We had a real taste of continental food (MacDonalds), but we did sit outside to eat it.  Back to school for some free time in the recreation area.

Our pictures show the town of Oldenburg plus Eylers ranch along with some of its inhabitants!!!!
