Standards and Quality Report (2022-23)

Each year we publish our Standards and Quality report. This is a report which reviews the progress we have made on our previous year’s improvement priorities. A copy of this report can be downloaded from the school website but we have included a summary here for your information.

Our School Improvement Priorities last year were:

  1. Raising attainment through consistent learning, teaching and assessment
  2. Meeting pupils’ needs through effective planning
  3. Empowerment through collaboration with pupils and families

These targets were all partially achieved but we are continuing with many aspects as they have shown signs of promise.

  • We unfortunately did not meet our stretch targets for attainment in literacy and numeracy but we have rich data that shows we added value and reduced the gaps in pupils’ learning (in almost all classes) following the disruption caused by the global pandemic.
  • We reviewed our existing planning formats and have begun to trial new, more consistent approaches to planning for learning teaching and assessment,  to better support progression, challenge and attainment.
  • We are at the initial staged of using new planning formats and processes to better support pupils with individualised support needs.
  • We were also able to reestablish a number of activities  (following the global pandemic) that have allowed us greater opportunity to collaborate and engage with our families in a sustainable way.

Our Nursery Improvement Priorities last year were:

  1. Raising attainment with a focus on literacy
  2. Empowerment through collaboration with families
  3. Developing our shared vision, values and aims.

Priorities 1 and 2 were both partially achieved, whilst priority 3 was fully achieved.  Our updated vision, values and aims ha been adapted, in collaboration with our families, to reflect a simplified, more meaningful early years version.  This has been shard with all of our families and addd to our information and promotional resources.  Progress towards priorities 1 and 2, despite being partially achieved were nonetheless, very positive and resulted in a number of improvements to the service we provide our families.  We are continuing with priority 1 this session, to continue exploring ways thaw can improve our practice by developing literacy and numeracy through play.
