School Aims

The broad aim of the school, within its resources, is to provide a balanced education to meet the needs and abilities of its pupils recognising the current expectations of local authority, parents and society.

We strive to create and foster a secure, caring, stimulating yet supportive environment which is conducive to good teaching and learning, in which children can develop confidence and self esteem and where pupils can become self motivated learners who understand and enjoy all the activities in which they are engaged.

Our School Aims are:

  • To create a positive climate that demonstrates mutual trust and respect within the school, with parents, with other agencies and with the wider community.
  • To support all aspects of each pupil’s development in a safe and caring environment, celebrating their personal achievements.
  • To encourage involvement in the curriculum by pupils, developing their skills and motivating them to perform to the best of their ability.
  • To set challenging goals for all pupils by offering a wide range of experiences and learning opportunities.
  • To develop pupils’ understanding of their rights and responsibilities as citizens of their local community, Scotland and the world.
