Cost of Living

Cost of Living

The cost of living is increasing in Scotland and elsewhere in the UK. There is help available for families and individuals from Fife Council and other sources. This support is not just for people who are out of work but also for families and individuals who are working.

All children in P1-5 get a free lunch but if you are on a low income you can apply for Free School Meals meaning your child gets free milk, a clothing grant and you receive payments over  holidays as well. For more, and to find out if you qualify, visit www.fife.gov.uk/schoolbenefits

Best Start Grant and Best Start Foods are payments that help towards the costs of being pregnant or looking after a child. Click the link to see more information- https://www.mygov.scot/best-start-grant-best-start-foods

The Best Start payments are part of the 5 family payments you may be able to get from Social Security Scotland, along with Scottish Child Payment.

Cafe Inc is a free lunch club for children, young people and families in Fife. No need to book, no criteria, free for all. Please click the link for more details. Click the link for more information- http://www.fife.gov.uk/cafeinc

There is also lots of help for transport, money advice and energy. Please see the links below.

Please come forward if you need any help. Mrs Shafren and Mrs Beckett would be able to provide advice about Cost of Living Support and the Cost of the School Day.
