Blairhall Bakes is our award-winning Social Enterprise business, running since December 2016, received a Sustainability award from the Social Enterprise Academy.
We were the first and currently the only school in Fife to receive the honour of a Sustainability Award and we were also recognised with an ‘Outstanding Partnership’ award for all the amazing work our Blairhall Bakes Management Committee did leading training sessions with Tulliallan PS and Balcurvie PS.
More recently we have been recognised for our sustainable social enterprise in versions communities. We are so proud of the recognition that our hard-work has achieved.
Our aim continues to be promoting and sustaining positive community links and encourage parental engagement. At certain points during the year we invite our parents into our school and we host our guests in our school cafe. We serve a variety of freshly made foods, home baking and drinks with each class taking responsibility for hosting a session each academic year. All funds we raise are put back into the business to keep it running and to buy any new equipment for our food prep area in The Hub.
We have a committee who work really hard all year to continue to develop our brand and look for innovative ways to engage our community further whilst continuing to be successful. We meet weekly, led by the children who have different managerial roles within our company.
We are so grateful to the parents who support the enterprise and to the families who come to our events. We have recently made contact with the local community centre who are willing to host some ‘outreach’ Blairhall Bakes events and we look forward to strengthening that community link once we are back up and running again.
We are so proud of our pupils hard-work, resilience and teamwork! Keep up the great work Blairhall!
