Assembly

We work in groups for Assembly. Each group has a mixture of children from P1 to P7.  We are given tasks to do with our teams and we are good at team work.  Assembly is one of the ways our voice is heard in the school.  We help to make changes and improvements throughout the year.

Assembly helps us to learn. This year we have been learning about words like diversity, equity, respect, dignity, tolerance, differences and fairness.  We also learn and talk about our rights. In Assembly we watch, discuss and show our understanding as a group.

Each Assembly finishes with awards. There is a Reader of the week certificate and a school values certificate.

We are a singing school and our Assemblies are full of songs.

We are about to learn our brand new school song which we will sing at every Assembly.

As part of our school’s work on gaining a Rights Respecting Schools gold award we took part in Odd Socks Day to help us mark anti-bullying week. Through our work in classes we learned that we are all unique and to celebrate our differences. Some of our pupils put together this short video.
