Primary 2 have been busy learning all about minibeasts, and this week their learning came to life in a very exciting way!
Today, a delivery of real ladybirds arrived at school, giving the class the opportunity to observe the fascinating life cycle up close. The children have already begun watching the tiny larvae as they explore their habitat. Over the coming days, they will carefully observe as the larvae grow and go through the incredible process of metamorphosis.
This hands-on experience will help deepen the children’s understanding of how living things grow and change. It has also sparked lots of curiosity, questions and excitement in the classroom.
Once the ladybirds have developed into adults, Primary 2 will release them into our school garden. This will be a lovely way to end their topic and give back to nature.
We look forward to seeing our ladybirds take their final journey into the wild!
