Primary 3 Showcase Their Learning

This week, our Primary 3 pupils proudly led a special assembly for their families, celebrating their learning and achievements from across the school year.

The children confidently shared highlights from their class novels, explaining how the stories inspired and enriched learning experiences across different areas of the curriculum.

Primary 3 also took time to reflect on their journey of faith, sharing their thoughts and experiences of preparing for and receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation. They spoke thoughtfully about what they had learned and how this important milestone has supported their spiritual growth.

Following the assembly, families were invited back to the classroom where they had the opportunity to explore displays and examples of work. The children enjoyed sharing their achievements and discussing the progress they have made throughout the year.

We are incredibly proud of the confidence, enthusiasm and maturity shown by our Primary 3 pupils. Thank you to all the families who joined us to celebrate their learning.

Primary 3 & Primary 5 Visit Five Sisters Zoo

Primary 3 and Primary 5 had a fantastic day out at the Five Sisters Zoo! The visit began with an engaging rainforest workshop, where pupils learned about different habitats, animals and how we can help protect our environment. The children asked thoughtful questions and showed great enthusiasm throughout.

After the workshop, everyone enjoyed exploring the zoo and seeing a wide range of animals. The bears were a particular highlight, and there was lots of excitement as pupils shared their favourite animals with one another. It was a wonderful opportunity for learning beyond the classroom, and the children represented our school beautifully with their excellent behaviour.

Celebrating Our Learning & Skills

During today’s assembly, children from across the school shared what they have been learning through their Explore More tasks. It was wonderful to hear about the different topics, projects and interests that pupils have been exploring.

Following this, we had a discussion about the skills that each class has been developing. Using our new skills mats, pupils identified and reflected on the skills they have been using in their learning.

It was fantastic to see children making connections between their learning experiences and the important skills they are developing for learning, life and work.

Pupils Share Their Voice in Faith and Learning

This week, we were delighted to welcome members of the Legion of Mary to speak with our Primary 5, 6 and 7 pupils about the Miraculous Medal. Pupils learned about the history and meaning of the medal and reflected on the importance of faith, prayer and living out Gospel values in everyday life. The visit provided a valuable opportunity for learners to deepen their understanding of Catholic traditions and engage in thoughtful discussion about their faith.

Primary 6 and 7 pupils also had the exciting opportunity to work with Sarah Gallacher to discuss the development of the new Scottish curriculum. During the session, pupils shared their thoughts, ideas and experiences about what learning should look like for children and young people in Scotland today.

The children’s contributions will help to inform and shape the future direction of the curriculum, ensuring that young people’s voices are at the heart of educational change. We are very proud of the thoughtful, respectful and enthusiastic way our pupils represented our school throughout both visits.
