The Key Worker Approach
Your child’s keyworker will be responsible for recording and tracking your child’s learning and development. They will be the one who will know you and your child best within the setting.
The keyworker will arrange to meet or call you to chat about your child’s learning every time your child has been part of our focus group on a termly basis. They will also meet or call you for a review of their learning and development every six months. This will be arranged with you in advance to ensure it is at a time that suits you.
On a daily basis, your child’s Keyworker, or any member of the team, will be able to discuss with you how they have spent their day. All playrooms use a communication sheet to record any important information (for example: if a child has been changed or food intake). Please speak to staff if you have any questions!
Children will, throughout the day, be offered the opportunity to build up relationships and become familiar with all staff and areas within the centre. This will ensure that your child will feel safe and secure with all members of the team.
