role in protecting children and young people, the role of communities

is even more important.

than do nothing.

If you’re worried please don’t hesitate to contact social work services

on 01324 506070 during the day Monday to Friday or 01786 470500

after 5.00pm and at weekends.

Looking after yourself at home

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p087dmvt

Strategies and tips for looking after yourself and being productive while staying at home with elite sports nutritionist James Collins. Never before have so many of us been stuck at home, with no clear idea how long we’ll be indoors. Coronavirus has upended our lives in a dramatic way, and the challenge now is to make the best of what is clearly a very difficult situation. This episode’s guest is James Collins, a performance nutritionist who has worked in elite sport for many years. He’s been a key member of Team GB at three Olympics, was Arsenal’s head of nutrition for seven seasons and has worked with the national football teams of England and World Cup winners France. He now also works with top music and entertainment performers and businesses too. In this episode of DTMTS, James talks to Simon about looking after yourself and still being productive while stuck at home. James focuses on several key areas including how to set up your home environment, the importance of routine, the importance of getting a daily dose of exercise, setting boundaries, ‘checking in with yourself’ and some sleep strategies. James also explains how to think about your nutrition and plan your meals, even when you can’t get hold of the things you normally want.

Why kids need to learn about gender and sexuality | Lindsay Amer

Lindsay Amer is the creator of “Queer Kid Stuff,” an educational video series that breaks down complex ideas around gender and sexuality through songs and metaphors. By giving kids and their families a vocabulary to express themselves, Amer is helping to create more empathetic adults — and spreading a message of radical acceptance in a world where it’s sometimes dangerous to just be yourself. “I want kids to grow up and into themselves with pride for who they are and who they can be,” Amer says.

Understanding and responding to harmful sexual behaviour (HSB)

Understanding and responding to harmful sexual behaviour (HSB)

presented by the Centre for Youth and Criminal Justice

Sexual behaviour is a normal part of growing up and developing. However, there are some situations where behaviour may become concerning and/or harmful to both the child carrying out these behaviours and others who may be harmed.

It is important that responses are appropriate and proportionate and delivered in a child-centred, and informed manner, in line with GIRFEC.

This roadshow will use current research and evidence to provide an overview of both offline and online harmful sexual behaviours and consider what is supportive and effective in terms of assessment and intervention.

This training is suitable for teachers and other professionals supporting young people of all ages and abilities around issues of sexualised behaviour. It links directly to the Managing Sexualised Behaviour Guidelines for Schools and the introduction of the Good Lives Model.

Tuesday 10th September . 10am- 1pm. Lecture Theatre, Education & Conference Centre, Stirling Community Hospital.
