World of Work Event
On Thursday 9th May at 1pm-3pm Easter Carmuirs held a world of workday event. It was held in Easter Carmuirs Primary School hall. We invited local businesses in to help us choose our future job.
Before the event we were learning about all the different careers. During ICT time we made posters to put up around the school. About 2 weeks ago we went ICT and found out some numbers for businesses in our area like hairdressers, butchers and vets.
During the event we went to all different parts of the hall to speak to local businesses that had came into speak to us. First we went to the butchers and we made some burgers. When we were at the butchers I learned that use all different kind of machines.
I really enjoyed PC McInnes because his job seems serious and interesting. I thought his job was interesting because he is a policeman and it seems important. I learned that if you have to be a police man you have to be fit .I also really enjoyed the gymnastics coaches because their job seems hard and fun. When I was at the gymnastics part I learned that you have to be fit to be a gymnast. The 3rd person we went to was the joiner. I liked listening to him because his job seems very interesting. I learned that you need maths to be a joiner. I thought the most interesting job was the gymnastics coach because it seems fun, looks good and would be someone who was hard working.
I enjoyed the event and I think the school should do another one next year. Taylor

FIRE!
We had a fire in our school hall last Friday. Luckily, one of our super helpers called the fire brigade out quickly, even though it was the middle of the night. This stopped the fire spreading out of the hall.
The hall is a bit of a mess! There is black dirt from the smoke everywhere. The school still smells a bit too. We can’t do PE in the hall and we have to have dinners in the GP room.
