The schools participating were Saint Andrews, saint francis, Easter Carmuirs ,Comely Park, Bainsford, Carmuirs and the winners were Bantaskin.

Some of the questions were very very very hard but we still did well, we came in 5th  place out of 7 schools. After all of it we went to get something to eat it was good, all the other schools had really good general knowledge and the rounds were maths and numeracy, language and literacy , science, expressive arts and pot luck it was really good and we were all very tired after it. Cameron, Blair, Grant and Duncan represented our school.

Golden Time

At golden time primary 7 have to go round all the classes and ask all the pupils what they want to do we have things like helping in the nursery and infants, craft, tennis, ICT, table tennis, netball, boxercise and bowling so it is pretty fun. We ask all the pupils to put their hand up to choose what they want to do it is very fun going round all the classes and asking then what they want to do because it is good to see what everybody likes to do we also have a golden cafe which primary 1 to primary 3 can go to and that’s what we do at golden time.

K’Nex challenge

On Wednesday 12th of March P7 did a k-nex challenge. Stem ambassadors came in and told us we had to make  David Livingstone’s cottage out of K’Nex. First we had to draw a plan on what we had to make and it had to be similar to our real thing. It also had to have a moving door or stairs to get up into the cottage. It had to be 10mm off the ground and 25cm square. It was a competition to see who did the best within a time limit which was 50minutes.  Then we had to make the cottage it was really hard. Everyone in P7 had to get a partner and all took part. Everybody’s was amazing but the people who were the judge had their eye on one. First it was down to 3 – Aiden and callum – Blair and Andrew – Teegan and Caitlin. Then it was down to 2 – Blair and Andrew – Teegan and CaitlinAnd the winner were TEEGAN AND CAITLIN! We got extra points because our picture looked exactly like our drawing! And in a couple of weeks we will be going to represent Easter Carmuirs Primary School in the k-nex challenge at the Falkirk wheel and there will be 30 different schools competing!

Circle time in P7

P7 have circle time every Thursday and we have circle time rules.1 of our rules are don’t talk when other people are talking, good eye contact, good listening and don’t laugh at other peoples comments. We do a game then a round then a activity and if we have time at the end   we do another game. Our games are usually something like elephant and mouse, splat, look up look down, novelty voices and the sun shines on. Our round is something like how we feel when someone wastes time…… or how well we concentrate in class…… and our activity is something like what’s on your mind or memory games and listening skills. We all enjoy circle time and would like to keep on having it.

Reading in P7

Primary 7 are reading a book about sectarianism rivalry and asylum seekers, it is called Divided City. It is also about Celtic and rangers, religious hate, fights over football and a boy called Graham who is taking part in the orange walk and Joe is his friend and disagrees with him because he is a Celtic fan. Graham and Joe are   helping a girl because there is a boy called kyoul and he is an asylum seeker he was walking down a street and a gang stabbed him and the ran away. He was left bleeding and his wound was big,Graham phoned an ambulance and they came and took him to a doctor and he had surgery in the side of his body .  We are enjoying this book and we look forward to finding out how it ends.
