On Thursday 6^th October Jen Barrett came in to school and spoke to us about Falkirk’s Waste Watchers Challenge.  We learned that over £1 billion worth of food is wasted in Scotland each year.  That’s an average of £430 per household, the equivalent of 1 in every 3 shopping bags going straight into the bin!  We are going to work with our parents and complete a food waste diary to note how much food we throw away for 1 week.  We will then try to reduce the amount thrown away the following week.  We will be sharing our results at assembly so watch this space!
