Successful Transitions
Stay and Play at Home Visits
Each child and their family will be offered a stay and play at home visit. On this visit, the Senior Early Years Officer for your child’s room along with your child’s key worker will visit your child at home for around 30 minutes. This gives your wee person the opportunity to meet their new adults in a safe and comfortable space. It also gives parents/carers the opportunity to ask any questions or find out more information.
Settling
Settling your child into ELC is very important and staff will work closely with you on this very important transition. This will be led by your child, ensuring they get to know us and feel comfortable in the setting. All children are different, some settle after a few days, others can take longer i.e. a few weeks. During this time, we ask that a familiar adult accompany your child, or are available to collect your child if required, to enable them to settle into ELC. Your child’s first visit will be discussed during the stay and play at home visit.
Induction and Personal Plans
During the settling in period, induction paperwork and some information for your child’s Being Me: Personal Plan are required to be completed. Before you leave your child in our care, these forms will inform us about your child, their likes/dislikes, how they like to be comforted, any medical conditions, medications, allergies, special diets, emergency contact numbers and who will be collecting your child. A Senior Early Year’s Officer or your child’s key worker will complete these forms with you,
