Gaelic Accents

It is possible to key in accented characters which are needed to write Scottish Gaelic.  The following page of advice, which has been published by Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, provides advice on how to setup your computer/device to do this.

Instructions are provided for Windows, Macintosh and iPads and Andriod mobile devices.

Generally speaking, once this advice has been followed it is possible to enter accented characters by enter a key combination ( Alt+` or Alt+e giving grave and acute respectively on a Mac) followed by the letter needed.

Here are a list of accented characters which can alternatively be “cut and pasted” into your documents.
