Following the completion of the Broad General Education (BGE) in February of S3, pupils will then begin working on their National Qualification course.

Course Outline

National 4 Mathematics aims to build upon the skills learned within curriculum for excellence and extend candidates’ mathematical thinking.

Students should recognise problem solving as essential in being able to apply their mathematical skills in a real life context.

What opportunities will be available to me when I finish?

National 4 is a required qualification in many different vocations. The skills and knowledge of mathematics at National 4 level can be illustrated in technological, vocational, scientific, social and environmental contexts.
