Jazz Success
Family and friends packed into a very full Drama Studio last Thursday evening for the first ever Autumn Jazz Festival to listen to music by the Williamwood Big Band, the Senior Choir, a jazz combo and soloists. The Big Band played pieces such as Tequila and Georgia On My Mind, the choir sang numbers including Haven’t Met You Yet and Wonderful World with a lively performance of Boogie-Woogie Bugle Boy by a group of senior pupils.   The jazz combo produced a high standard of musicianship playing numbers such as Green Onions and Autumn Leaves. Solos came from Stephanie Boyce and Eilidh Ratcliffe although many of the ensemble items featured soloists.
The event proved a great success and we look forward to developing it further next year.
Thank you to all who supported. Photographs can be viewed on the gallery page.
“Thank you for an amazing night!”
“There is an unbelievable amount of talent in the music department.”
“Jazz isn’t my thing but I really enjoyed the evening.”
“Can’t wait for next year. My toes were tapping all night!”
