National Children’s Orchestra of Great Britain 2013
SCBF Outstanding Soloist
Congratulations to Richard Scholfield S5 who received the award for Outstanding Soloist yesterday at the Edinburgh and Glasgow Regional Event of the Scottish Concert Band Festival 2012. Richard was performing on alto saxophone with the East Renfrewshire Senior Concert Band who are conducted by Kevin Price. The band achieved the Gold Award on the day.
Christmas Charity Choir Performances
The Junior and Senior choirs are performing at a number of venues to raise money for charity. These are:
Junior Choir on Fri 30th November at St Enoch Centre, Glasgow from 2.00 to 3.00pm
Junior Choir and dancers on Thurs 6th December at Braehead from 2.00 to 3.00pm
Senior Choir and dancers on Mon 10th December at Princes Square from 2.00 to 3.00pm.

Classic FM Music Teacher of the Year 2012
Congratulations to our very own woodwind teacher, Stephen West, who won Classic FM’s Music Teacher of the Year 2012. Stephen received the award of Peripatetic Music Teacher of the Year on Wednesday 14th Nov in the Royal Albert Hall, London. Click on this link to see his interview.
RSNO Side by Side project
Congratulations to Frances Paton S4, Luke Maher S5 and Stuart Vettraino S5 who were all chosen to perform alongside the Royal Scottish National Orchestra yesterday. See attached pictures.
Performing Arts Achievement Ties
Performing Arts Colours are awarded to students who have excelled in music outside of school. Click on the criteria link below to see some examples of the types of activities which qualify. Students should bring in written evidence to prove their involvement in any such activities this session. The deadline for this term is Monday 12th November. There will be a further opportunities in the next two terms to bring in any evidence.
